Barbaresco: The Queen of Piedmont's Red Wines

Barbaresco DOCG Ciabot

Warning! This is an alcoholic beverage. Alcohol may harm your health.

Barbaresco is made, like Barolo, only from Nebbiolo grapes, but in a smaller area around the village of Barbaresco, a few kilometres north-east of Alba. The climate is a little warmer and closer to the Tanaro river, so Barbaresco is often described as the more graceful, floral sister of Barolo.

Colour, aroma and taste

  • Colour: clear, refined garnet red
  • Aroma: violet and wild rose, evolving into menthol and spices
  • Taste: firm, dry and warm, with fine and persistent tannins
